Pay attention to repeated words, phrases, or themes. Write them down—they often highlight what God is emphasizing.
Invite the Holy Spirit to guide you. Ask for understanding, and for help applying the passage to your life.
Reflect with these questions:
What does this passage reveal about God—His character, His purpose, or His will?
How am I being encouraged, challenged, or corrected by what I’ve read?
What specific step can I take in response to this reading?
